Going Native Vegan and Gluten Free Ready to Heat Meals

Today I had my first taste of a ready to heat, packaged curry vegetable product from a company called Going Native. The product I had was their Potato and Bamboo Shoot Curry, and I put it on top of some cooked white rice in a lunch sized bowl. It was very nice, in fact I have just subscribed to the product.

They offer a number of asian-themed curry type food in a heatable pouch products, putting them into a similar market space as the well known Tasty Bite product line that I've used for many years. While Tasy Bite seems headed in the direction of sauces, Going Native is much more devoted to curried vegetable products.

Below are the results of a search for Going Native products, but if you have celiac disease or you require a gluten free diet for any other reason please be sure to read the ingredients before ordering any of these items, we do not know for certain that all of their products are gluten free. They also have a Paneer Makhani product that is gluten free but not vegan, paneer refers to a dish containing cheese in India.

Gluten Free Energy Bars

When you are traveling on an airplane it is very unlikely there will be much to choose from in the way of gluten free food. This is why many people affected by celiac disease or following a gluten free diet for some other reason choose to carry gluten free energy bars with them.

GF energy bars come in a variety of styles, some are based on gluten free flour and resemble a brownie or a cookie, others rely on a foundation of date paste and add things like nuts or chopped dried fruit, some gluten free energy bars are reminiscent of peanut brittle, having a crunchy and sweet mix that holds peanuts or tree nuts in place. A fourth style of energy bar resembles body building powders and relies on a high protein mix, these often contain dairy products.
